Today is the day--we will hopefully find out whether we should buy pink or blue! So excited, because Devin gets to come to this appointment and we'll have Braden with us, as well as my BF Jennifer! I don't really care either way, just as long as this baby is whole and healthy!

Trying to keep up

First off, my intentions were good. I wanted to keep family and friends updated with what is going on in our lives. Basically, life got in the way and my blog went down the drain. Here is my attempt and restarting. Of course, this means that the papers I need to grade are sitting on my kitchen table. Ha! Me, procrastinate? Never!

Big news? Well, you probably know about our unexpected surprise. We found out on August 6 that Braden was going to be a big brother. The official due date is April 11, 2010. I am 14 weeks along today, and we should find out if we buy pink or blue the week of Thanksgiving.

God has been so good to us. We have been blessed beyond measure. The past year has been rough with several medical issues. I had a couple of nasty infections and spent a week in the hospital in January. However, we have made it through them all in one piece.

Hopefully I will get a chance to write more later. I need to get to these papers!

Just checking in

It has been a great week in the Bell household. Devin had his second softball game of the season on Monday--and they won again! Braden loves to watch Daddy play ball. He also likes to run up to people and say, "HI! I'm Baden!" It's hilarious, yet scares me to death at the same time! It was quite windy, and still is today.

Devin's job is scaring me. They've laid off lots of people this week and although Devin says he thinks he's ok, I just don't trust that statement. Please pray for him--he's going to register for online classes with Texas A&M Commerce for summer, and he will hopefully graduate soon. He wants to teach history or geography. The thought of us having the same schedule makes me so incredibly happy!

Braden is doing well. The new location of his daycare opened up this week. It's now at the old Turner Middle School building--which is not in the best part of town. I cannot stand that the district moved the babies over there. The icing on that cake is that it's in the same building as the AEP kids. I am just praying the next 10 weeks will go by smoothly. I hate leaving my baby there. Needless to say, we will be moving daycares for next school year.

School for me is going going going. My kids did extremely well on their TAKS test. I had 100% pass, with 50% getting commended performace, meaning they missed three or less questions, and 2 perfect scores! I know they will do just as well on the math test at the end of April. I am looking forward to my sister's wedding! We went wedding dress shopping last weekend, and while I want to post pictures so badly, I will refrain. Just in case they get in the wrong hands that is. Haha! She is going to be the most beautiful bride.

Well, it's Saturday night, and that means some date time with Devin. Braden should be pretty close to being asleep and that means if us old fogies can stay awake, we'll get to watch some tv!

Ahh...spring break

One of the best things about teaching (besides the beaucoup money of course) is spring break. Yes, there are other breaks in the year, but spring break is best because there is no rushing here and there, to this party and that, you get to relax just a bit. Of course, in my case, it's take care of all of those little things you let slip by during the school week. This week I have started my spring cleaning (and gotten some "all-the-time" cleaning done that often gets neglected) and although the week is almost over, it's been such a relief. We always seem to be running around like crazy, and if you know me then you know how much I complain about the state of my house. I never seem to get caught up. My goal is to have the house ready for guests at any given moment. Not sure when that will be, but still a goal I'd like to meet.

We've h
ad a fun break so far. Braden, Alyssa, and I went with our friends the Mims to Cameron Park Zoo on Monday. We thought traveling a little farther from the DFW metroplex would mean a less crowded zoo, but nope, not at all. In reality, it wasn't that bad, but we were surprised when we could not find a parking spot in the parking lot. We did get to park a little further down by a river and had to walk a little ways to get to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun. Tuesday Alyssa and I had fun watching a friend's little one for a couple of hours. It's funny how soon you forget what it's like to have a sweet little baby in the house. The cute little noises and precious smiles really made our day. Alyssa proved to be such a good caretaker too. My goodness, she is growing up so fast. Wednesday Braden and I stayed around the house while I did some laundry and such. We signed up for a much much cheaper satellite plan, so after that was installed, we had the day to ourselves. We played outside for a bit in the afternoon before I started supper. It was a nice, easygoing day. Today has been fun and laid back as well. Alyssa is with us today. She wanted pizza for lunch, so after a quick trip to the bank, we picked up some pizza (and brownies!) and headed to the house for an inside picnic. Grandpa (my dad) joined us for lunch. Now the kids are napping and I am working...haha! Tomorrow we should be able to go and play with our friends the Mims again, but our car may not allow us that much excitement! There are several things wrong with it, and not sure when that is going to be fixed. My dad is awesome and offered to help work on it some. You just never know with cars I guess.

This weekend I think is dress shopping for Cindy's big day! I haven't gotten the details yet, but I know it's going to be so much fun. There are 163 days left until the wedding! Sounds like a lot, but I know it will be here before we know it.
